February 8, 2002	It's been a long time coming, but I finally updated my webpage with new information regarding the transplant of the MP3 jukebox into my truck. I've updated a number of the pages, including adding a lot of pictures of the truck installation. I actually installed the player into the truck during the summer of 2001, but haven't gotten around to posting the info and pictures until now. The system works great in the truck, basically the same as it did in my car.
May 21, 2001	Updated the Installation page with a few more pictures of the completed system.
May 20, 2001	Updated the Overview and LCD pages with two pictures of the final project as well as some wording changes. Ironically, I didn't put up any pictures of the completed system until after the system was removed from my car.
May 19, 2001	Updated the The Car page with info about my Buick's demise and my plans for a new sound system in my 1995 Chevrolet Impala SS.
April 2001	I've purchased a 1995 Chevrolet Impala SS as my next car. It has 84,300 miles and is a MUCH nicer car than the Buick. The layout of the trunk and dash will pose challenges to installing my sound system and MP3 player, but the project begins.
March 2001	My Buick suffered camshaft failure and I've decided to sell off the car and get a new one. The car has 240,548 miles on it. The MP3 player was installed for about 12,000 miles of that and worked well. The search begins for my next project...
January 16, 2001	Finally got a chance to update my web page again. Updated a few of the pages a bit to reflect recent changes.
January 6, 2001	Ah yes, winter weather. I can say that the LCD display still works at a temperature of 10F, but it updates v_e_r_y s_l_o_o_o_o_w_l_y and has a lower contrast level. No problems with the system though - it boots up fine like normal.
December 29, 2000	I added a little switch inside the computer case so I can manually turn on/off the secondary case fan in the summer and leave it off most of the year when it doesn't need it (does it even need it in the summer?). I also added an in-line fuse between the internal power supply and the external power connector just to be safe, which I meant to do in the first place.
December 26, 2000	Ripped some more CDs and added them to the system. Have over 4,600 songs now.
December 22, 2000	I added some sound-dampening material inside the computer case to reduce the fan/hard drive noise, which I can faintly hear from within the car.
November 13, 2000	Minor web-page maintenance. Updated most of the pages a bit to reflect recent changes.
November 11, 2000	Intel finally relased the Rapid BIOS for this board. I was hoping for more, but it reduced boot times by about five seconds. Combined with WinMe, and perhaps the newer faster hard drive, the system now boots up in 31 seconds. Also put in LCDisplayer 1.00, with a few more changes to the LCD display.
November 5, 2000	Finally tried LCDisplayer .63beta. This new release offered several compatibility modes to help tune problematic LCD displays. I've spent a bit of time tuning it, but this has solved my LCD problems! Woohoo!
November 4, 2000	New hard drive installed. Used opportunity to put WinMe on it, which decreased boot times by about five seconds. Finished ripping the remaining 100 CDs or so - I'm now done with that - almost 400 CDs total and more than 4,500 songs - 23GB worth.
October 28, 2000	Yep, I ran out of room on my 17.2GB hard drive. Only about 3,200 songs would fit. Ordered a new 30GB drive.
October 23, 2000	Fixed a counter problem with the Power Supply page. Ripped 50 new CDs - database over 3500 songs now. Thinking I'll soon be needing more disk space...

October 20, 2000	There was a problem, but I've finally been able to enter my system specifics info on the MP3Car.com database system. But they still haven't updated their Examples of MP3Cars page to reflect my info yet - hopefully soon.
October 17, 2000	Finished up the Power Supply page.
October 16, 2000	Fixed a broken link. Updated the Car page. Added the Power Supply and System Interface pages. Added a counter to the Feedback page.
October 3, 2000	Fixed a few dead picture links. Changed the frame layout slightly and index height spacing to better accomodate the Feedback link. Changed Overview page to only show the new Yahoo Webring panel.

September 19, 2000	Copied webpage to new domain http://www.hollenbaugh.net. Updated several pages, but still working on getting all of the pictures moved over to the new server and referenced.
September 7, 2000	Tweaked the system to decrease boot time. It started out at 1:43, and then I got rid of useless stuff in the boot process and took it down to 1:22. I then disabled networking in the BIOS and it then dropped to 44 seconds. My motherboard is one of the Intel boards which is supposed to support Intel's Rapid BIOS. When this new BIOS is released I'm hoping to shave another 8-10 seconds off of the boot time. Also, I'm contemplating getting Windows Millenium just for it's quick boot-times. My goal is to have boot times of less than 25 seconds.
September 7, 2000	Ripped another 100 CDs or so for a big weekend trip. Now have 3200 songs loaded. This is taking up about 10.6GB of space on the hard drive.
September 5, 2000	Battery run-down test. Just how long can I let the computer run playing MP3s without the engine running? I don't know, because I got tired of waiting after six hours and went to bed. The next morning, the car started right up without hesitation. The sound system wasn't on, just the MP3 player. I also have a fairly new 60-month warranty battery.
September 4, 2000	Solved the noise problem that I had with the inverter. Grounded the inverter, the PC's power supply and the external LCD 5V power feed (taken from 4-pin hard drive connector inside computer) to the same point as the rear amps. This eliminated the ground loops. There is a very minor hum remaining, but only audible at high volumes. The alternator whine is actually louder, but that was there before the MP3 player was installed and I have a filter to solve that problem which I still need to install.

August 19, 2000	It's done!! I worked on it until 4:00 AM Saturday morning to have it ready for a weekend trip. There are a few kinks to iron out (some noise, LCD issues - probably timing), and a few tweaks to be done, but it worked admirably that weekend.

April 2000	Bought new 40GB hard drives for my workstation and server - freeing up the 17GB hard drive for my MP3 player.
March 2000	Couldn't find any case that would fit the spot in the trunck, so I bought wood and built my own.
February 2000	Decided on most aspects and began search for components. Bought most stuff for computer on-line.
January 2000	A friend and I began researching the project and planning the layout of our systems.
December 25, 1999	I guess it was about Christmas time when I decided to do the project.
